The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Relationship Manager to join our Industry Group covering the Energy and Chemicals sector. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with business owners and key decision-makers, providing strategic financial solutions that support growth, expansion and transformation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and deepen relationships with a portfolio of Energy and Chemicals clients, serving as their trusted banking partner and primary point of contact.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of clients' business models, growth strategies, financial performance, and industry dynamics.

  • Conduct regular client engagements to identify opportunities, address challenges, and support evolving banking needs.

  • Advise clients on a comprehensive suite of banking solutions, including lending, cash management, trade finance, treasury and other value-added services.

  • Collaborate with product partners, credit teams and internal stakeholders to structure and deliver tailored financial solutions.

  • Drive portfolio growth through proactive client acquisition, relationship expansion and cross-selling opportunities.

  • Monitor industry trends, market developments and competitive dynamics within the Energy and Chemicals sector to provide relevant insights and recommendations.

  • Maintain strong credit discipline and portfolio quality while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • Prepare and present financing proposals and strategic recommendations to support clients' business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Banking & Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Relevant experience in commercial, SME or corporate banking, with exposure to relationship management and credit assessment.

  • Good understanding of the Energy and Chemicals sector and its business drivers, challenges and opportunities.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to identify opportunities and deliver business results.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
