As VP of R&D, you will spearhead the company's technical strategy and lead its international development teams. You'll play a crucial role in our mission to simplify and digitalize people's access to medical treatments through innovative technology solutions. Lead, grow, and inspire a 40-person development team based in East Europe
Foster technical excellence and professional development across software developers and QA engineers
Build high-performing, scalable teams capable of delivering enterprise-grade solutions
Implement effective performance metrics and career development pathways for team members
Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality projects and products that meet business objectives
Define, monitor, and continuously improve software development processes
Collaborate closely with product management to align technical execution with business goals
Drive adoption of best practices in agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM)
Maintain high standards for code quality, scalability, and technical performance
Guide technical architecture decisions for cloud/SaaS environments
Oversee implementation of microservice/event-oriented design principles
Direct development across diverse technologies including Angular, PHP7 + Symfony, Yii2, NodeJS, Linux, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, and AWS-based services
Ensure solutions are secure, compliant with healthcare regulations, and scalable for future growth
Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to telehealth applications
Work in close partnership with business and product teams to understand market needs
Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and execution plans
Provide technical leadership in strategic business discussions
Contribute to product strategy with technical insights and innovation opportunities
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master's preferred)
10+ years of experience in R&D managerial roles
Proven experience as VP R&D managing teams of 35+ engineers
Demonstrated success managing remote development groups
Experience in D2C ecosystem preferred
Strong technical background with ability to perform hands-on tasks in full-stack development when needed
In-depth understanding of enterprise-scale application development in cloud/SaaS environments
Proficiency with microservice/event-oriented design principles
Working knowledge of the company's technology stack including Angular, PHP frameworks, NodeJS, and various databases
Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure
Exceptional leadership skills with proven ability to motivate distributed teams
Proactive, highly motivated approach with strong work ethic
