Responsibilities
The Vice President will provide senior analytical judgement and execution on the credit quality of rated entities and debt instruments, including rated projects and corporates in the infrastructure and power/utilities sectors within ASEAN and South Asia. There will be a particular focus on higher-complexity mandates across digital infrastructure, transition, and emerging and frontier markets. The individual will manage frequent interaction with investors, intermediaries, and issuers, including at the most senior levels, and represent the franchise in market-facing outreach. The Vice President will also write comprehensive, insightful, and thought-provoking research and conduct outreach on a broader regional basis.
• Senior analytical leadership on complex credits
The role anchors the region's highest-complexity mandates intersecting a variety of themes ranging from transition, emerging markets, blended finance to private credit and digital infrastructure:
o Act as lead analyst on higher-complexity project and infrastructure finance credits, owning senior analytical judgement and execution, including transition-related mandates such as renewables, grid, and storage across ASEAN and India and digital infrastructure (data centres and GPUs).
o Represent the franchise in senior-level outreach, including speaking engagements at industry conferences and forums and targeted issuer, investor, and market-facing meetings where VP-level credibility is required, raising franchise visibility and anchoring relationships with top issuers, policy makers, and intermediaries.
• Outreach
The role acts as a senior external voice for the franchise, building trusted relationships and representing Moody's Ratings in the market:
o Communicate confidently with external parties, manage senior internal and external stakeholder relationships, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
o Deliver insightful presentations and panel interventions at conferences, industry events, and key stakeholder meetings, where relevant.
• Leadership and collaboration
Being a genuine team player is central to this role, which builds a high-performing team by collaborating with peers and less experienced colleagues, partnering across the franchise geographically and across teams, and leading through influence:
o Take an active role in strategic projects that strengthen team effectiveness across the region.
o Build constructive working relationships and consensus with peers, junior colleagues, and diverse team members across locations and teams, leading by influence rather than authority.
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced team members, actively contributing to a supportive and inclusive team culture.
• Timely Research
The role drives the franchise's published thought leadership, turning credit views into insightful research that shapes the market conversation:
o Produce clear, insightful research on individual companies and industry sectors.
o Create compelling company- and sector-related content, including credit reports, sector comments, infographics, and industry outlooks.
About the Team
Our Project & Infrastructure Finance team is responsible for the accurate ratings of our portfolio of issuers and debt instruments, including rated projects and corporates in the infrastructure and power/utilities sectors within ASEAN and South Asia. By joining our team, you will be undertaking analysis and producing research which enhances transparency in the financial markets, thus facilitating the financing of essential infrastructure in Emerging Asia.
We are a cohesive, close-knit unit that works as one, sharing need-to-know information intuitively, supporting one another through peak workloads, and taking collective pride in the quality of our analysis. A strong team spirit underpins how we operate day-to-day.
Because this cohesion is central to how we succeed, it is essential that any new addition adds to the team's esprit-de-corps rather than subtracts from it — someone who elevates those around them, collaborates generously, and strengthens the collective spirit of the group.
