Beacon is a successful and national private-equity behavioral health company providing residential-based services and supports to children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Severe Mental Illness, Autism, and high-acuity behaviors. All activities related to this position must be delivered in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, accreditation standards, state and federal licensing requirements, HCBS guidelines, and the contractual requirements of Community Mental Health Agencies and other regulatory bodies. The Vice President of Operations (VP of Operations) is a crucial executive role responsible for overseeing and improving the efficiency, profitability, and compliance of the organization's operations. The VP of Operations will report directly to the Executive Vice President (EVP) and collaborate closely with other senior leaders to ensure alignment with our core values of Integrity, Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence. This position requires a dynamic leader with a strategic mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a strong dedication to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Education & Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Behavioral Health, Business Administration, Social Work or related field required, Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
2. Must be an excellent communicator and able to communicate effectively with employees, individual served, families, regulatory officials, state hospitals and the general public.
3. A minimum of 5-10 years in an AFC, nursing home administrator, or manager of operations position preferred.
4. Must have compassion for and a desire to work with special populations with IDD and chronic illnesses.
5. Previous experience in behavioral health and human services related environments preferred.
6. Must have experience overseeing multiple communities/homes.
7. Experience with financial reporting and managing multiple budgets.
8. Ongoing approval by Federal, State and local government entities to work at the company.
9. Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA, medical management, and care plan record keeping and billing documents.
10. Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
11. Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
Travel:
This position requires up to 50% of time in the field and visits to each location on the assigned caseload
at least once per year
Working Environment:
Some of the job duties will be performed in an office setting, however some work may be performed at
home-like setting or community facilities with the potential of exposure to infectious disease. Universal
precautions are required to minimize the risk of infections. Work sites may include locations that are
not barrier-free. Duties are performed in an environment where there is potential for physical
aggression from individuals.
