Job Title

VP – Operations, Enterprise Technology

The VP, Operations, Enterprise Technology is a leadership role, responsible for establishing and driving the operational management framework across Enterprise Technology Operations.

The role serves as the central coordinating and governance function that ensures consistency, accountability, transparency, operational rigor, and continuous improvement across all technology products and services. Working across Enterprise Technology teams, this leader will drive operational excellence through governance, service management, operational intelligence, process transformation, risk management, resilience planning, and executive communications.

The role will act as a strategic advisor to the Enterprise Technology Leadership Team and will be responsible for ensuring that technology operations consistently deliver reliable, resilient, secure, and business-aligned outcomes. This position plays a critical role in enabling Enterprise Technology’s transition toward a product-centric, predictive, engineering-led operating model focused on incident prevention, rapid recovery, operational excellence, and superior employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and continuously evolve the governance framework that drives accountability, consistency, transparency, and operational excellence across all Enterprise Technology products and services

  • Define and maintain the Technology Operations governance framework, including decision rights, accountability structures, operating principles, and escalation models

  • Establish governance forums including operational reviews, service reviews, reliability reviews, risk reviews, executive business reviews, and transformation steering committees

  • Drive adoption of the product-centric operating model across Technology Operations, clear ownership across Product Owners, Engineering, Operations, Service Management, SRE, and external partners

  • Drive operational maturity through standardization, simplification, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives, establishing a formal Operational Excellence program across Technology Operations

  • Identify and improve operational inefficiencies, process bottlenecks, organizational friction points, and service delivery gaps

  • Promote engineering-led operations and automation-first principles, including operational maturity assessments and benchmarking frameworks

  • Develop operational policies, standards, procedures, and controls that support enterprise-wide consistency

  • Define and monitor operational KPIs, SLAs, XLAs, objectives, and performance commitments

  • Ensure vendors and strategic partners deliver services consistent with BXTI operational standards and expectations, with defined service expectations and control mechanisms

  • Ensure operational performance is continuously reviewed, improved, and aligned with business expectations, establishing formal service review and operational review programs for reliability, availability, and other key service attributes

  • Drive Continual Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives, partnering with Product Owners to improve operational outcomes

  • Develop operational scorecards and executive dashboards, partnering with the Technology Operations Analytics & Intelligence team to generate actionable insights.

  • Ensure operational risks are identified, measured, managed, and mitigated across Enterprise Technology Operations, supporting audit, compliance, and regulatory activities

  • Oversee governance of Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Operational Resilience, and Recovery Testing

  • Ensure timely, accurate, business-focused communications during operational events and ongoing service management activities, defining templates and standards for key operational communication across the firm

Qualifications

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

  • 12+ years of experience in Technology Operations, IT Service Management, Operational Excellence, Technology Governance, or Enterprise Service Delivery

  • Proven experience leading large-scale global technology operations organizations

  • Deep expertise in ITIL and enterprise ITSM frameworks, including strong experience with Incident, Problem, Change, Service Level, and Knowledge Management disciplines

  • Experience operating within product-centric, engineering-led, or SRE-enabled organizations

  • Experience with observability platforms such as Splunk

  • Experience leveraging DEX platforms such as Nexthink

  • Experience managing operational risk, resilience, business continuity, and crisis management

  • Experience working with enterprise observability, telemetry, and operational analytics platforms

  • Strong executive stakeholder management and communication skills
