Job Description

Position Title: Vice President of Supply Chain

Location: Hybrid

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: COO

Fives Intralogistics designs and delivers world‑class material handling and automation solutions for major parcel, WD, Postal and airport customers. The Vice President of Supply Chain leads the end‑to‑end sourcing, planning, procurement, logistics, and supplier performance ecosystem that supports engineering‑to‑order projects, aftermarket operations, and strategic growth initiatives. The Vice President of Supply Chain will drive functions and resources to position Fives to be able to scale to meet the capacity needs the business.

This role is responsible for developing a resilient and cost‑effective supply chain, strengthening supplier partnerships, improving material availability, and ensuring a seamless interface between Engineering, Project Management, Assembly, Logistics, and the Center of Excellence (CoE)—which governs all quality standards, specifications, and approval criteria.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop a multi‑year global supply chain strategy aligned with enterprise growth, delivery performance, and cost‑efficiency goals.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing team across procurement, planning, logistics, and supplier development.
  • Drive a culture of transparency, data‑based decision‑making, continuous improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Sourcing, Contracting & Supplier Management

  • Lead category strategies for mechanical, electrical, fabricated, and engineered components, installation subcontractors, and indirect services.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and long‑term supply partnerships that reduce total cost of ownership and improve value.
  • Implement supplier performance scorecards aligned with CoE‑defined quality metrics, ensuring corrective actions and development plans follow CoE methodologies.
  • Introduce risk‑mitigation strategies including dual sourcing, long‑lead forecasting, and supplier capacity planning.

Planning, Materials & Logistics

  • Own SIOP/S&OP processes in partnership with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management; ensure forecast accuracy and supply plan feasibility.
  • Optimize MRP health, inventory strategy, safety stock, excess/obsolete controls, and ERP master data accuracy.
  • Lead logistics strategy including inbound freight, international transport, customs compliance, and warehouse operations.

Quality, Safety & Compliance — in partnership with the Center of Excellence

  • Partner closely with the Center of Excellence (CoE) to ensure all supplier quality deliverables (e.g., PPAP/FAI, documentation, certifications) meet CoE‑governed standards.
  • Ensure suppliers meet CoE‑defined specifications, inspection requirements, and NCR/8D corrective action expectations.
  • Support CoE in ensuring alignment between supplier capability and Fives’ engineering specifications and performance criteria.
  • Ensure suppliers adopt safety requirements aligned with Fives’ Field Safety Manual and CoE guidance.

Cross‑Functional Integration

  • Ensure early supplier involvement with Engineering to optimize cost, manufacturability, and lead times.
  • Align procurement and logistics strategies with Assembly, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Site Installation to ensure schedule reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years progressive supply chain leadership in engineered‑to‑order industrial equipment, automation, or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated success reducing supply chain risk, improving OTIF performance, and driving cost productivity.
  • Experience in ERP/MRP environments (SAP preferred).
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier‑development capability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business; Master’s degree preferred.
  • APICS, ISM, or equivalent certifications desirable.
