About the role

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented VP of Projects (Construction) to lead our ~$30M construction business unit at Leo Facility Services. This is a highly visible leadership role that demands strategic vision and decisive, hands-on execution.

What you’ll do

  • Model work ethic and ownership: be visible on sites, tackle issues early, and set a high bar for pace and quality.
  • Govern WIP, invoicing milestones, and AR aging; drive AR >60 reduction and claim resolution.
  • Deliver a programmatic playbook for roll-outs: scope control, site readiness gates, standardized closeout.
  • Enforce baseline schedules and cost controls; apply earned-value and variance reviews to keep projects on plan.
  • Own stage-gates from feasibility and precon through execution, punch, handover, and documentation.
  • Maintain risk registers (permitting, site access, supply chain); prequalify vendors; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for key project accounts; lead QBRs and portfolio reviews with clear dashboards.
  • Identify scope growth and renewals; partner with sales organization on pursuits and pricing strategies.
  • Lead a team across project management, field/ops, estimating/precon, and project controls.
  • Hire, onboard, coach, and succession-plan; align staffing to backlog and site cadence.
  • Institutionalize a weekly operations review covering revenue, GM bridges, schedule variance, TRIR, and AR aging.

What you bring

Required

  • Proven P&L ownership with 10–15+ years leading enterprise-scale, national, multi-site construction/program roll-outs in retail/real estate or similar.
  • Mastery of scheduling, cost control, WIP/AR, change orders, and closeout across $200K–$1M projects.
  • Experience leading team and national vendor management.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, systems, and processes in the commercial real estate and construction industry.
  • Ability to scale with experience: standardized playbooks, vendor network upgrade, schedule/cash improvements.”
  • Willingness for U.S.-based with ~25% travel to client sites and vendors.
  • “Demonstrated extreme ownership & work ethic: decisive on-site leadership, crisp follow-through, bias to action.”

Preferred

  • Launched a Cloud-based Construction Management Platform (e.g., Procore, Autodesk) or similar at scale; MS Project/P6 scheduling at portfolio level
  • Store development experience; preconstruction/estimating exposure.
  • BIM and scheduling tools (MS Project/P6); multi-state permitting familiarity.
  • Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, or related; PMP/PE a plus.
