The opportunity

R77 Global is supporting our client in appointing The business is seeking a hands-on Finance Director to lead its finance function and work closely with the CFO. This is not a manage-from-a-distance appointment. The successful candidate will remain close to the ledger, reporting, controls and underlying numbers while building the team, systems and processes required for international growth.

The opportunity

You will take ownership of finance operations across a complex international group.

The role covers group accounting, financial close, consolidation, intercompany activity, statutory reporting, audit, tax, treasury, management reporting, planning and commercial finance.

You will work across multiple legal entities and coordinate internal team members alongside external accounting and payroll providers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, structure and develop the finance team.
• Work closely with the CFO on financial control, reporting and strategic priorities.
• Own group accounting and the complete financial-close process.
• Maintain oversight of ledgers and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
• Manage consolidation across multiple companies, jurisdictions and currencies.
• Own intercompany accounting, reconciliations and eliminations.
• Coordinate statutory reporting, audit requirements and regulatory liaison.
• Oversee external accounting, tax, payroll and other professional-service providers.
• Manage tax compliance across relevant jurisdictions, including VAT, transfer pricing and withholding-tax considerations.
• Maintain effective treasury, liquidity, cash-management and foreign-exchange processes.
• Deliver accurate and useful monthly management reporting.
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting.
• Strengthen financial planning, analysis and performance visibility.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Ensure revenue-share, hybrid and other B2B commercial arrangements are accounted for correctly.
• Improve internal controls, approval structures and finance operating procedures.
• Build scalable finance processes without losing hands-on control of the detail.
• Partner with Legal, HR, Commercial and operational teams.
• Support future audit, due-diligence, financing or transaction requirements where relevant.
• Identify appropriate opportunities for finance-system and process automation.

What success looks like

• The group has an accurate, timely and controlled monthly close.
• Consolidated reporting is reliable across entities, jurisdictions and currencies.
• Intercompany positions are understood, reconciled and eliminated correctly.
• Statutory, audit and tax requirements are managed proactively.
• Cash, treasury and foreign-exchange exposure are visible and controlled.
• Management reporting supports better commercial and operational decisions.
• Budgets and forecasts provide a realistic view of performance and cash requirements.
• Revenue-share and other B2B arrangements are accounted for consistently.
• Finance controls and processes scale with the organisation.
• The CFO and leadership team have confidence in the underlying numbers.

Essential experience

• Senior finance leadership experience across multiple entities and countries.
• Strong full-cycle accounting and financial-control capability.
• Experience with consolidation, intercompany accounting and eliminations.
• Experience managing statutory reporting, external audit and tax compliance.
• Understanding of international tax considerations, VAT, transfer pricing and withholding tax.
• Treasury, cash-management and foreign-exchange experience.
• Strong management-reporting, budgeting and forecasting capability.
• Experience with B2B commercial arrangements, ideally including revenue-share or hybrid models.
• Evidence of leading and developing finance teams.
• Ability to build structure while remaining hands-on with the financial detail.
• A recognised professional accounting qualification or demonstrably equivalent experience.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Willingness to relocate to Sofia and work full-time from the office.

Strongly preferred

• Experience in iGaming, sportsbook technology, betting or another regulated B2B technology supplier.
• Experience selecting, implementing or improving ERP and finance systems.
• Experience supporting audits, due diligence, investment or transactions.
• Experience automating finance processes and improving reporting efficiency.

This is a senior international leadership appointment. The package is open and will reflect the successful candidate's experience. Equity participation may form part of the overall offer.
