Our distinguished client, recognized for their excellence, is in search of a Vice President of Finance to join their team. Reporting directly to the President, the VP of Finance assumes a pivotal role as a key business leader responsible for overseeing accounting, financial planning and analysis, cost control, working capital management, and decision support. Collaborating closely with senior management, the VP of Finance aims to strategically position the business for financial growth and efficiency, ensuring the company not only meets but exceeds its financial commitments. The role entails maintaining precise financial records, implementing efficient financial processes, systems, and controls to ensure compliance with corporate policies, and overseeing both the Accounting and IT departments.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with leadership and team members to improve financial performance and understanding of key financial drivers and metrics, actively addressing evolving business needs. Oversee the monthly accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to corporate and aligning financial statements with US GAAP standards.
Manage the development of standard costs, review manufacturing variances, and exercise tight control over Work in Progress (WIP), closely monitoring open work orders exceeding 90 days. Foster partnerships and collaboration across departments to provide essential financial support and analysis for alignment and informed decision-making.
Lead the development of the annual Business Plan and monthly P&L forecast, reviewing results with senior management, assessing risks, and implementing actions to enhance profit and financial position. Support senior management in evaluating and executing new business opportunities, providing financial analysis for customer quoting and investment decisions, and optimizing payment terms with Sales and Marketing.
Evaluate capital expenditure requests, validate Return on Investment (ROI), and conduct post-audits to assess ROI assumptions used in investment justifications. Conduct pricing analysis and audits to ensure compliance with pricing policies. Support functional leaders in achieving value drivers and proactively advocate for cost and headcount controls.
Effectively manage working capital, focusing on inventory, receivables, and payables, collaborating with Supply Chain to reduce inventory and improve supplier terms, and working with Sales for customer terms and collections. Evaluate financial processes and systems for continuous improvement in efficiency, internal controls, and reporting capabilities.
Maintain internal accounting control and SOX compliance, supporting both internal and external audits. Lead the development, training, evaluation, coaching, and succession planning of the finance team, fostering teamwork and communication. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, payroll, and other applicable taxes. Develop processes and procedures to enhance work efficiencies and departmental service capabilities. Participate in or lead special projects as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
Experience:
Significant expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Accounting, and Cost Accounting, with a demonstrated successful track record in a manufacturing setting. Displayed ability to grasp a business's strategy and establish connections to financial initiatives and drivers. Possess strong leadership skills, demonstrating the capability to lead, develop, and retain associates within the finance organization. Proven experience in a leadership capacity, effectively managing people, projects, and tasks with a focus on responsiveness and priority.
Skills:
Outstanding communication skills, adept at engaging with individuals at all levels within the organization and influencing processes across various functions and stakeholders. Highly skilled in computer applications, particularly demonstrating advanced proficiency in Excel. Substantial experience in managing, mentoring, and facilitating the development of team members, encompassing responsibilities such as hiring and training.
Demonstrated ability to apply insightful judgment and a commitment to achieving results. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Proven as a team player, consistently ready to take initiative and undertake a diverse range of responsibilities. Exhibits the highest level of integrity and ethics.
