VP Product Marketing

The VP of Product Marketing will be responsible for defining and executing the go-to-market strategy for MarketCast's suite of research products and services. This role involves leading a team to develop compelling product positioning, messaging, and launch plans. The VP will collaborate closely with product management, sales, and marketing teams to drive product adoption and revenue growth. Furthermore, they will be instrumental in understanding market trends and customer needs to inform product development and marketing strategies.

  • Develop Product Marketing Strategies –Craft comprehensive product marketing strategies that align with overall business objectives, focusing on market segmentation, competitive analysis, and value proposition development. This involves identifying key target audiences and creating tailored messaging to resonate with their specific needs. The strategies should encompass all stages of the product lifecycle, from launch to maturity, ensuring consistent communication and engagement. Regularly evaluate and refine strategies based on performance metrics and market feedback to maximize impact.
  • Lead Product Launches –Orchestrate successful product launches by coordinating cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and marketing communications. This includes defining launch objectives, developing launch plans, and executing marketing campaigns to generate awareness and drive adoption. Ensure all launch materials are compelling, accurate, and aligned with the product positioning. Track and measure the success of product launches, providing insights for future improvements.
  • Define Product Positioning and Messaging –Develop clear, concise, and compelling product positioning and messaging that differentiates MarketCast's offerings from competitors. This includes identifying key benefits, features, and value propositions that resonate with target audiences. Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels and customer touchpoints. Regularly review and update messaging to reflect market changes and product enhancements.
  • Conduct Market Research and Analysis –Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape. Analyze data to identify opportunities and inform product development and marketing strategies. Stay abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies to anticipate future trends. Share insights with cross-functional teams to drive informed decision-making.
  • Create Marketing Content –Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing content, including website copy, brochures, case studies, white papers, and blog posts. Ensure all content is aligned with product messaging and brand guidelines. Work with subject matter experts to develop thought leadership pieces that showcase MarketCast's expertise. Optimize content for search engines and social media to maximize visibility and engagement.
  • Manage Product Marketing Team –Lead and mentor a team of product marketing professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Set clear goals and expectations, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. Recruit and onboard new team members as needed to support growth.
  • Collaborate with Sales Team –Work closely with the sales team to develop sales enablement materials, including presentations, demos, and training programs. Provide ongoing support and training to help the sales team effectively communicate the value of MarketCast's products. Gather feedback from the sales team to inform product marketing strategies and identify opportunities for improvement. Participate in sales calls and customer meetings as needed.
  • Manage Product Marketing Budget –Develop and manage the product marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support key initiatives. Track and measure the ROI of marketing programs, providing insights for future budget allocation. Identify opportunities to optimize spending and improve efficiency. Work with finance to develop accurate forecasts and track expenses.
  • Track and Measure Performance –Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the success of product marketing initiatives. Analyze data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement. Provide regular reports and dashboards to communicate performance to stakeholders. Use data to inform decision-making and optimize marketing strategies.
  • Build Relationships with Key Influencers –Identify and build relationships with key influencers in the market research industry, including analysts, journalists, and thought leaders. Engage with influencers to promote MarketCast's products and services. Participate in industry events and conferences to network and build relationships. Leverage influencer relationships to generate positive media coverage and build brand awareness.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic thinking, marketing expertise, and leadership skills. A deep understanding of market research methodologies, combined with the ability to translate technical details into compelling marketing messages, is crucial. Experience in leading product launches, managing teams, and driving revenue growth is highly valued. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of product marketing experience in the market research or technology industry
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and growing products
  • Strong understanding of market research methodologies and techniques
  • Experience with digital marketing and content marketing strategies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing automation tools

Per the pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $163,000 to $206,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skill set, and any other factors MarketCast considers relevant to the hiring decision. In addition to your salary, MarketCast believes in providing a competitive total rewards package for its employees.
