Role Overview

Support the Head of Investment products and Distribution, to implement the Investment Fund product strategies, and growing the Bank’s investment fund business, covering fund product strategy, product due diligence, platform development, sales support and ongoing product governance. The role serves as the key subject matter expert and strategic partner to Sales & Distribution, Frontlines, Investment Solutions team, Operations team, Risk and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fund Product Strategy & Business Growth
  • Develop and execute the Bank’s investment fund product strategy in alignment with the overall wealth management strategy and target client segments.
  • Identify market trends, emerging investment themes and new fund opportunities to broaden the Bank’s fund product shelf and enhance revenue and AUM.
  • Drive initiatives to increase fund penetration, client engagement and product utilisation across both online (IB/MB) & branch channels. Work closely with WPM, International Wealth team, and ensure eligible funds on shelf for CIES and WMC clients.
  • Provide training to frontlines on both fund products knowledges and end-to- end order flow.
  • Fund Selection & Product Due Diligence
  • Lead the end-to-end fund selection and onboarding process, and monitoring product life cycle.
  • Maintain a high-quality and competitive fund shelf across different asset classes, strategies and client risk profiles.
  • Oversee regular product reviews and monitor fund performance, risk profile, material changes and ongoing suitability.
  • Product Governance & Risk Management
  • Ensure robust product governance throughout the fund lifecycle, from product onboarding and approval to ongoing monitoring and, where necessary, product suspension or removal.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Legal and other control functions to ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Strengthen controls, processes and governance standards relating to fund distribution, suitability, product documentation and sales practices.
  • Platform & Digital Transformation
  • Drive enhancement of the Bank’s fund platform and digital investment journey, including product setup and workflow optimisation.
  • Partner with Technology, Operations and other stakeholders to define business requirements, conduct UAT and deliver system enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client experience, operational efficiency and scalability through digitalisation and automation.
  • Stakeholder & Fund House Management
  • Implement commercial and strategic discussions with fund houses on product opportunities, distribution initiatives, marketing support and business development.
  • Coordinate closely with key internal stakeholders to align product strategy and business priorities.

What we are looking for

  • University graduate in Finance, Business, Economics or related disciplines; with CFA definite advantage
  • 8+ year relevant experiences with strong end-to-end experience in investment funds, covering product strategy, product development, due diligence, governance and distribution
  • Strong fund expertise and market knowledge across major asset classes, fund houses, and investment themes, with the ability to translate market opportunities into relevant product propositions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of growing investment fund revenue, AUM and product penetration across target client segment.
  • Solid understanding of HKMA/SFC requirement, product governance, suitability, and ongoing monitoring.
  • A transformation-oriented individual who can streamline fund processes, leverage digital platforms and improve client and RM experience while maintaining robust controls.
  • A collaborative and strong team player who build effective relationships across functions.
