Why Join

The Global Corporate Banking Strategy team shapes and enables the strategic direction of the franchise. Working across business units, industry teams, and geographies, the team translates strategy into actionable initiatives and drives aligned execution to support sustainable growth across the global platform.

As part of the Global Corporate Banking Strategy team, you will gain a deep, end‑to‑end perspective on the growth drivers of the corporate banking business, while working in a fast‑moving environment that values clarity of thought and decisive execution. You will partner closely with the senior leadership team to shape, drive, and track strategic initiatives that directly influence the direction and performance of the franchise.

At the big‑picture level, this role is about steering the business toward its next phase of growth—connecting strategic intent with disciplined execution, providing insight that informs leadership decisions, and ensuring priorities translate into measurable outcomes. It is a challenging and highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional to make a visible, lasting impact.

How you succeed

To succeed in this role, you take ownership of the execution and tracking of strategic initiatives across Global Corporate Banking. You ensure initiatives are delivered against defined Division KPIs by maintaining tight oversight of performance, coordinating closely with business and functional teams, and addressing issues that may impact outcomes. You play a key role in stakeholder management by delivering timely, high‑quality presentation materials that support the Division Head’s internal management forums and external engagements.

What you do

1. Strategy Support: Partner with divisional leadership to define, prioritise, and drive strategic priorities and key business initiatives across Global Corporate Banking network, supporting both annual planning and ongoing execution.

2. Executive & Strategic Communications: Develop structured storyboards and high‑quality presentation materials to support divisional strategy discussions, internal and external engagements (e.g. regulators and strategic organisations).

3. Intra-Group collaboration: Coordinate and facilitate collaboration across Group entities, product and functional partners and Global Corporate Banking business units.

4. Staff Engagement: Lead the planning and execution of divisional staff events, including townhalls and strategy workshops, to reinforce strategic priorities and drive organisation‑wide alignment.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Banking & Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA) is preferred.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Strategy, Business Analytics, Finance & Planning, or Corporate / Commercial Banking within the financial services industry.

  • Good understanding of the Institutional / Wholesale Banking landscape; prior banking or financial services experience is advantageous.

  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint with demonstrated ability to synthesise complex information into clear insights and structured executive‑level materials.

  • Proven ability to partner effectively with product and cross‑functional teams, including Risk, Compliance, and Operations & Technology.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across seniority levels.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, evolving environment, with a track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering results under tight timelines.
