The Vice President & General Counsel is responsible for serving as the on-site General Counsel of Uniontown Hospital (“UH”) with the assistance, as needed, of the Assistant Counsel, Associate Counsel, Assistant Vice Presidents (“AVPs”) and Vice President & General Counsel (Pennsylvania) (the “PA General Counsel”)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Juris Doctor.
2. Pennsylvania Bar membership or eligibility.
EXPERIENCE:
1. At least five (5) years of substantial experience in a law firm or in-house legal department with substantive experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and other instruments documenting arrangements and transactions between parties.

1. Serves as the on-site General Counsel of UH with the assistance, as needed, of the other Assistant Counsel, Associate Counsel, AVPs and of the PA General Counsel.
2. Serves as an integrated component of WVUHS's Legal Services Department and UH’s Leadership Team.
3. Oversees the on-site, day-to-day legal affairs of UH, its subsidiaries, including risk management, contracts, insurance, and day-to-day legal issues.
4. Assists WVUHS Litigation Counsel, as needed, with the handling of malpractice, employment, and other lawsuits against UH, its subsidiaries, and handles such matters directly.
5. Assists Associate General Counsels, AVPs, and the PA General Counsel, as needed, with the handling of transactions involving UH, its subsidiaries, and handles such matters directly.
6. Oversees Medical Staff, credentialing, and licensing matters involving UH, its subsidiaries, and its physicians with the assistance, as needed, of Associate General Counsels, AVPs, and the PA General Counsel.
7. Assists the Corporate Compliance Officers of WVUHS and UH, as needed, on compliance matters.
8. Selects or participates in the selection of the outside counsel to advise and represent UH and its subsidiaries.
9. Oversees or participates in the oversight of such outside counsel.
10. Stays up to date on developments in the law.
11. Develops and implements an appropriate educational program for the Boards of Directors, officers, and employees with respect to applicable laws and their legal duties and responsibilities.
12. Performs such other duties as requested by the PA General Counsel and President & CEO of UH.
