Job Description

Purpose of the role

To develop business capabilities for Finance through key stages of functional design, data, end-to-end-process and controls, delivery, and functional testing.

Accountabilities

  • Functional Design: leveraging best practice concepts, and in collaboration with Line SMEs, support options analysis and recommendations as part of decision making.
  • Data Analysis/Modelling/Governance: design conceptual data model underpinning all phases of the processes, and governance requirements in accordance with GDMS standards and principles.
  • End-to-End Process & Controls - development of target process and controls design/documentation and operational runbooks and aligning these components with organisational and role/service model design definitions. .
  • Delivery/Implementation Support: update design/functional requirements throughout the development cycle, and resolve RAIDS related to functional requirements and business processes. Project management for change programmes that have limited technology investment.
  • Functional Testing: develop scripts and data to test alignment to requirement definitions, ahead of user testing cycles.

To be successful as a VP – Finance Transformation – Impairment, you should have experience with:

  • Strong Impairment and Financial Risk Expertise – Deep understanding of IFRS 9, ECL, RWA, impairment disclosures, reporting, FINREP/COREP, Impairment interaction with Planning, Forecasting and Stress Testing processes and use cases that are internal and external / regulatory (EBA, PRA, etc.).
  • Broad Modelling and Analytics Knowledge – Familiarity with end-to-end model lifecycles across Impairment, Stress Testing, Treasury and Risk, including scenarios, data, assumptions, modelling, adjustments, outputs and reporting.
  • Business Architecture and Regulatory Understanding – Ability to interpret and produce business architecture artefacts, requirements, process flows and technical documentation, with a sound understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Data and Business Analysis Skills – Strong analytical capability, including data modelling, data design principles, problem solving and translating business needs into actionable outcomes.
  • Commercial and Economic Acumen – Understanding of banking products, financial markets and key economic drivers that influence portfolio performance and impairment outcomes.
  • Leadership and Stakeholder Management – Proven ability to influence, negotiate and communicate effectively across senior stakeholders, global teams and cross-functional functions, while leading teams and driving outcomes.
  • Transformation and Change Delivery – Experience delivering large-scale business and technology transformation and change programmes, combined with strong attention to detail and the ability to create high-quality executive presentations and storyboards.


Some other highly valued skills include:

  • Credentials such as FRM (GARP), CFA, MBA Finance, CA/CPA, and or any advanced Finance / Risk qualifications.
  • Data Analytics, working knowledge of datasets, databases / query languages (such as SQL, equivalent) towards techno-functional skills.
  • Good understanding of AI / ML from a capability, design, and business perspective.
  • Knowledge of transformation frameworks, business process modelling, controls environment, model execution frameworks, and reporting tools (such as Tableau or Qlik).
  • Knowledge of data flow, lineage, reporting tools, planning/stress testing/impairment/treasury use cases and regulations, regulatory forms and tools.
  • Knowledge of Planning, Stress Testing, Impairment, Treasury modelling, operational processing, reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, usage of Office and other enterprise tools.
