Job Title: VP – Finance - Chatsworth
The Vice President, Finance is responsible for overseeing finance and investment operations, which includes the liquidity and interest rate risk management of the organization.
- The position will manage and direct production of interest rate risk modeling within Finance. This includes creating the balance sheet and net interest income risk profile of Premier America, providing insight into the key drivers of balance sheet risk, and offering solutions for managing Premier America’s balance sheet.
- The Vice President, Finance will also be responsible for overseeing Premier America’s budgeting, hedging, profitability modeling, Concentration Risk Management, and Allowance for Credit Losses calculation functions as well as playing a key role in supporting Premier America’s pricing and Enterprise Risk Management functions.
- The role will demonstrate outstanding quantitative and technical skills and have the ability to clearly define and articulate the risks and returns of the balance sheet and ensure communication to Premier America management, board, regulators, auditors, and other external parties as it relates to the balance sheet strategies and risks.
- This VP establishes and implements finance related policies and strategies. Also ensures the effective organization and administration of Finance functions while providing leadership as it relates to strategy, policies, and philosophy.
What You Will Do:
- Assumes responsibility for overseeing finance and investment operations.
- Responsible for the management of the Premier America's balance sheet positioning in terms of interest rate risk analysis, liquidity, and interest rate hedging.
- Responsible for liquidity risk management and contingency funding by ensuring adequate levels of cash, liquid securities, credit lines, and collateral.
- Responsible for investment and borrowing operation activities including trade settlement; interest payments from borrowing, non-member deposits, and swaps; daily swap margin process; pledging of collateral and all accounting related to the listed transaction activity.
- Presents liquidity and interest rate risk modeling results and recommendations for liquidity and interest risk management to the ALCO committee and Board Finance Committee.
- Monitors daily financial data and forecast liquidity needs to ensure that the liquidity needs of the Credit Union are met. Develop, maintain, and periodically test back up liquidity sources.
- Leads the annual process for forecasting budget Net Interest Income (NII) and Net Interest Margin (NIM) and periodic forecast updates. Leverage economic and market data and forecasts with various sources to more accurately forecast NII and NIM projections.
- Effectively supervises Financial Department Team Members, ensuring optimal performance.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Premier America staff and management.
- Stays informed of trends and changes in the Finance and Investment Operations field.
- Responsible for Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) calculations and presentations.
- Leads Premier America’s Current Expected Credit Losses calculation function effectively coordinating with and gathering input from key stakeholders.
- Responsible for management of Premier America’s profitability modeling function.
- Responsible for management of Premier America’s Concentration Risk Management reporting function.
- Evaluates finance related Key Risk Indicators to support Premier America’s Enterprise Risk Management function.
- Leads preparation of finance related accounting entries in support of Premier America’s Accounting function.
- Maintains and revises the policies as required to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state rules and regulations.
- Leads production of reporting in support of Premier America’s pricing function and hosts Product & Pricing meetings ensuring coordination with key stakeholders.
- Attends seminars and professional conferences as necessary.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field required.
- CPA or MBA with Finance concentration required.
- Thorough knowledge of the financial services industry, including in depth knowledge of GAAP, regulations and industry standards relating to accounting and finance.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and manage projects
- Proficient in computer operations, specialized applications and MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills.

Pay Grade Info
The base pay range for this position is: $150k-$185k / annually.
