What IT Management contributes to Cardinal Health

This role provides strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight of all information technology and digital and commercial technology functions and capabilities at Cardinal Health International India (CHII).

CHII is a multi-functional Global Capability Center within the Global Technology & Business Services (GTBS) team. It harnesses and scales talent across our businesses, spanning enterprise technologies, commercial technologies, and business process solutions. With approximately 850 employees, CHII delivers world-class capabilities at the intersection of technology innovation and continuous learning. The Vice President, IT Management serves as the country leader for Cardinal Health International India (CHII). This executive role is accountable for the overall strategy, transformation, and expansion of CHII, ensuring operational excellence, governance, and compliance while driving innovation in enterprise, commercial, and digital technologies.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of executive leadership, technical expertise, and business acumen, with a proven track record of managing large-scale technology organizations and driving enterprise-wide transformation.

Excellent organizational navigational, communication and change management skills will be needed to drive a culture of innovation and execution. Expertise will be needed in the following areas: AI & Gen AI Capabilities, Data Analytics and Enterprise-Scale Technology & Organization Transformation.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision:

  • Serve as the country manager for CHII, defining and executing the local strategy in alignment with Cardinal Health’s global vision.
  • Drive transformation, strategy – formulate, execute & deliver the strategy 2.0, and expansion initiatives to strengthen CHII’s role as a Global Capability Center.
  • Act as a global thought leader, influencing technology direction and shaping the future of healthcare solutions.

Transformation & AI Innovation:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of digital technologies and trends, with a focus on AI/Gen AI, data analytics and commercial technologies (e.g. Salesforce, product software engineering, mobile application dev etc).
  • Maintain an enterprise perspective, identifying opportunities to leverage AI for competitive advantage and operational efficiency.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

  • Build strong cross-functional and global business partnerships to ensure alignment across enterprise and commercial technologies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to global executives, influencing strategic decisions and representing CHII’s capabilities.
  • Collaborate with technology leads to leverage the latest technologies to enhance products, services, and operational efficiencies.

Team Leadership & Talent Development:

  • Leads a team of Directors to deliver services, facilitate operational excellence, and solve business level service issues in a consultative manner as a strong business partner.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, ensuring teams are equipped to deploy emerging technologies (AI and Gen AI) responsibly and effectively.
  • Develop and implement local strategy, culture, and business objectives in alignment with Cardinal's vision.

Operational Excellence & Governance:

  • Fulfils responsibilities associated with local legal entity, including regulatory filings and maintaining local compliance. Represents India delivery center to the regulatory bodies and professional organizations in the industry. Ensures site compliance to all applicable regulatory requirement through a robust governance structure and risk management controls system.
  • Assists in evaluation of business unit workforce needs considering market trends and developments in order to help develop solutions, recommend necessary strategy changes, and adapt existing workforce management programs to meet these needs. Provides local market insights and recommendation on business opportunities, capabilities, and value-creating potentials.
  • Provides consulting on service-related business issues through understanding of needs and objectives at the business unit level, working with internal departments (Finance, IT, Compliance etc.), centers of excellence (COEs) and other team members to deliver the appropriate solutions and support efficient operations.
  • Manages the governance of capability center in India, including operational oversight of FP&A, general ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, facility management site.


Qualifications

  • Proven track record in executive IT leadership roles, ideally as a Country, Site or Technology Leader.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in digital transformation, commercial technologies, enterprise technologies, and IT management.
  • Experience in leading and driving strategy, transformation, and expansion of global technology operations.
  • Experience managing large-scale teams and senior leaders, with a focus on talent development and culture building.
  • Deep understanding of governance, compliance, and risk management in a multinational context.
  • Ability to act as a global thought leader, influencing technology direction and shaping healthcare innovation.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, business case development, and ROI analysis.
  • Advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
