THE JOB:
The Vice President of Commerce Technology leads the strategy, execution, and transformation of enterprise technology initiatives that drive revenue growth across MGM Resorts' digital commerce ecosystem, including web, mobile, and contact center channels. Accountable for delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality technology solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and governance, this executive ensures predictable delivery while advancing the organization's technology strategy. The role also serves as the engineering leader for Commerce, defining the engineering operating model and AI strategy to transform team structures, investment priorities, and engineering practices, accelerating innovation, delivery velocity, and differentiated customer experiences that drive business growth.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Define and execute the Commerce Technology strategy, aligning product, engineering, AI, and platform investments with enterprise commercial objectives and revenue growth.

  • Lead the delivery and evolution of digital commerce and CRM platforms, ensuring scalable, integrated, and customer-centric capabilities across all sales channels.

  • Establish an AI-first engineering operating model that accelerates innovation, improves productivity, and optimizes technology investments and value delivery.

  • Drive exceptional digital customer experiences through product innovation, personalization, data-driven decision making, and continuous optimization.

  • Champion engineering excellence by embedding enterprise standards for quality, security, reliability, automation, compliance, and operational resilience.

  • Govern a complex portfolio of strategic initiatives, technology investments, budgets, and vendor partnerships to deliver measurable business outcomes and maximize value.

  • Foster a high-performing, metrics-driven culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and business impact.

  • Build and develop exceptional product and engineering organizations through leadership, organizational design, talent development, and AI-enabled workforce transformation.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline required; Master's degree preferred.

  • 20+ years of technology leadership experience, including executive leadership within travel, hospitality, or digital commerce organizations, with a proven track record of leading large-scale engineering teams and enterprise transformation.

  • Deep expertise in digital commerce technologies, including web, mobile, CRM, contact center, cloud, API, and enterprise platform architectures.

  • Demonstrated success defining technology strategy, product roadmaps, and delivering large-scale digital transformation initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.

  • Proven experience leading AI-enabled engineering transformation, including AI-assisted software development, automation, value-stream optimization, and organizational evolution.

  • Strong executive leadership capabilities with experience building high-performing organizations, leading change, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and communicating effectively with senior executives and boards.

  • Working knowledge of quality engineering, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, governance, and operational excellence for mission-critical, high-volume commerce platforms.

  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience with revenue-generating platforms, technology investment strategy, AI ROI, vendor management, and hospitality commercial ecosystems.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is:

$160,200.00 - $213,700.00

This range represents a good faith estimate of the salary range that MGM reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s incentive plan.This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s equity plan.

Employees in this position are eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plans, and time off plans. Specific program offerings vary by eligibility factors such as geographic location, employment status, and union membership.
