VP, CIB Business Finance

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Global Finance team.

Business Descriptor

This function brings together distinct specialisms to drive greater connectivity in how we manage engagement with key stakeholders for HSBC.

• Finance teams provide the bank with internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, controls oversight, and stress testing expertise. Specialist areas also manage HSBC’s worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts.

• Sustainability teams lead the bank’s work to support sustainable growth in a global economy, including an ambitious plan to prioritise financing that supports the transition to net zero.

Job Introduction

Global Finance is integral to HSBC’s purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in managing costs and deploying capital in the most effective way. The Global Finance team partner with the business to provide trusted insights and forward looking analysis; accuracy; efficiency and control to frame and influence business decisions. India Finance is currently seeking an experienced professional to be a part CIB business finance team in INM.

The Business Finance team partners the CIB business by providing meaningful analysis of financials and performance, challenging and supporting the business in their initiatives to meet their strategic objectives. The role is closely linked with the regional CIB business finance function and spans across all CIB segments, products and businesses.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the India Business Finance Team

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support CIB business in managing and optimizing long term and sustainable profitability by analyzing various aspect of business, analyze strategic options to suggest and implement competitive strategies.
  • Implement Global finance vision and priorities with specific focus on CIB interface
  • Engagement with the senior CIB management team including Business/Product heads to understand their key business drivers.
  • Ensure close engagement with the support teams in the GFOC, Central Finance in order to provide consistent and seamless support to the CIB business
  • Conducting monthly/ annual forecast exercise and challenge business wherever necessary
  • Drive the annual planning process in building the financial plans for the business. Develop robust plans and contribute to governance and control processes within CIB.
  • Provide insight as into business performance and sound financial analysis, identify problem areas and provide recommendations when required thus assisting in maximizing profitability
  • Drive Financial Business performance & reporting function through meaningful analysis of key P&L and Balance Sheet drivers and support cost control initiatives for each business.
  • Review of the Risk Weighted Assets and providing insights and opportunities to reduce / maintain RWA within target
  • Streamlining and automating processes using tools like Power BI, Alteryx.

Role Requirements / Education Qualifications / Certifications / Experience:

  • Post graduate qualifications of CA, MBA, CFA etc. preferred but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of wholesale business preferred but not mandatory
  • 5 to 8 years of experience and subject matter expertise in financial reporting / analysis
  • Effective analytical skills
  • Good spoken and written communication
