Role Purpose
The Vice President – Business Development (Domestic Market) leads growth, market penetration, and revenue generation across the UAE defense sector. Reporting to the Senior Vice President – Commercial, the role oversees integrated business development across Platforms & Systems, Missiles & Weapons, Space & Cyber Technologies, and Bidding & Proposals, ensuring alignment with EDGE’s strategic objectives.
Core Responsibilities
• Develop and execute the domestic business development strategy.
• Build and convert a high‑value opportunity pipeline with defined revenue and order‑intake targets.
• Monitor defense market trends, procurement policies, and competitive activity.
• Lead BD activities across Platforms & Systems (Land, Naval, Air), Missiles & Weapons, and Space & Cyber.
• Ensure cross‑domain integration and alignment with customer requirements.
• Oversee end‑to‑end bid and proposal development for domestic and international opportunities.
• Drive win strategies, pricing approaches, and bid/no‑bid governance.
• Maintain senior‑level relationships with UAE government entities and defense authorities.
• Represent EDGE in strategic engagements and national defense initiatives.
• Deliver annual revenue, pipeline, and order‑intake targets.
• Implement KPIs and performance frameworks across BD teams.
• Produce executive‑level reports on pipeline, opportunities, bid performance, and market intelligence.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing BD teams.
• Establish best practices in market intelligence, opportunity qualification, and capture management.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and execution excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 15–20 years’ experience in defense, aerospace, or advanced engineering sectors.
• Proven success in securing major defense contracts and managing complex bids.
• Strong knowledge of UAE defense procurement processes and regulations.
• Deep understanding of defense technologies, systems, and operational requirements.
