Job Description

Business Function:

DBS Group Research under the Group Financial Markets (origination, sales and trading), comprises of the Economics/Strategy, Equity and Credit research teams. Credit research coverage is focused in Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive credit research coverage on Asian USD/SGD issuers, with potential expansion to other currencies
  • Specialize in China, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea, with a particular focus on the technology and property sectors
  • Build and maintain financial models covering companies, industries, macro indicators and the broader bond universe
  • Publish timely, insightful research including initiations and results /event updates
  • Develop, lead, and publish thematic research, covering topics such as Strategy, Regional and Sectoral, Credit Ratings, and Structural trends
  • Market research insights effectively to DBS clients, including High Net Worth (HNW) individuals, Institutional Investors and internal stakeholders
  • Supervise and drive the team’s research output, including reports, presentations, and new topical ideas
  • Collaborate and support the team with cross-market and capital structure research (Equities/Credit/Macro)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
  • 6-8 years of experience in Fixed Income or Equity Research within Sell-side Institutions, Asset Management, Funds, Wealth Management or Rating Agencies
  • Solid understanding of macroeconomics and the Asian USD/SGD bond markets; direct experience in technology sector credit is highly preferred
  • Prior supervisory and team management experience is advantageous
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Bloomberg (experience in BQuant and BQL is highly desirable)
  • Proficiency in coding/VBA, experience with Credit Ratings, High-yield/Distressed Debt, or Equity analysis
  • A self-motivated team player with intellectual humility, strong analytical curiosity and communication skills.
  • A keen interest in leveraging AI tools to enhance credit research processes
  • Strong cross-cultural adaptability and a growth mindset to navigate diverse regional markets
