Vice President, AEM Product Owner

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, AEM Product Owner to join our digital marketing team. This position is located in Washington D.C.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for the Adobe Experience Manager platform in alignment with business and digital strategy.
  • Translate business, marketing, content, and technical needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized delivery plans.
  • Partner with stakeholders across marketing, UX, content, engineering, architecture, and compliance to define platform capabilities and enhancements.
  • Prioritize features, defects, and technical debt based on business value, customer impact, risk, and platform health.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness activities with Engineering delivery teams.
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker for AEM-related requirements, scope tradeoffs, and feature acceptance.
  • Drive optimization of content authoring, publishing workflows, templates, components, and digital asset management processes.
  • Ensure the platform supports scalable, consistent, and compliant digital experiences across web properties and channels.
  • Monitor product performance, user feedback, adoption metrics, and operational issues to inform continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with developers and solution architects on integrations involving Adobe tools, APIs, personalization, analytics, and downstream systems.
  • Support governance for platform standards, taxonomy, content structure, permissions, and lifecycle management.
  • Communicate roadmap updates, delivery status, risks, and dependencies to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Champion end-user and author experience improvements that increase efficiency, usability, and business outcomes; train and coach authors/publishers on platform best practices.
  • Oversee UAT and validate delivered functionality meets business objectives and quality expectations.
  • Lead platform modernization and expand AEM capabilities in support of efficiency and quality user experience.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, information systems, computer science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant experience in product ownership, product management, or digital platform leadership roles.
  • Strong experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including content authoring, publishing workflows, templates, components, and digital asset management.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business, marketing, content, and technical requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs.
  • Proven experience working in Agile delivery environments, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, release planning, and user acceptance testing.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms, web content management, and enterprise digital experience delivery.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, including marketing, UX, content, engineering, architecture, and compliance teams.
  • Experience with AEM-related integrations, APIs, analytics, personalization capabilities, and connected enterprise systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance business value, platform health, risk, and user experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience supporting platform governance, standards, taxonomy, permissions, and lifecycle management preferred.
  • Experience driving platform enhancements, modernization initiatives, and continuous improvement preferred.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $83,000 and $143,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.


This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
