The opportunity

Join CSIRO’s Marine National Facility (MNF) and play a key role in delivering nationally significant marine research. We have two opportunities available for Voyage Delivery Coordinators who will coordinate the safe and effective delivery of the research voyage schedule, supporting multidisciplinary science campaigns across Australia’s vast marine estate.

Working within a collaborative operations team, you’ll partner with researchers, vessel crews and stakeholders to plan and deliver complex voyages aboard RV Investigator and other platforms, ensuring every mission is well-prepared, safe and set up for success.

These roles also offer the opportunity to contribute to voyage delivery at sea, with periods of travel of up to 60 days at a time.

We are looking for people with a unique blend of administration, technical delivery and people management capability. If you are motivated to influence outcomes through effective consultation, communication and issue resolution, while managing expectations and maintaining a strong customer focus, this could be the role for you. Your interpersonal and collaboration skills, combined with an ability to manage cyclical tasks with close attention to detail, will support your success.

Your high-level duties will include:

  • Coordinating the provision of advice to stakeholders on vessel and equipment capability, technical support requirements, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Managing the provision of advice and practical support on technical challenges that arise during the planning and execution of research voyages.
  • Coordinating technical review and input of voyage plans, equipment and support to optimise MNF voyage outcomes.
  • Providing routine logistical support for Investigator voyages, including port security and equipment requirements.
  • Managing a range of resources to deliver voyage objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with organisational and Commonwealth requirements.
