Machine Operator with experience operating and maintaining Voortman machinery to cut, burn and/or drill structural steel components including beams, angles, tubing and channels for fabrication and processing.
This is a vital position within our organization where you can contribute to the successful completion of various projects by ensuring the efficiency and precision of cutting and drilling operations of various structural steel items.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand project specifications. · Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on Voortman equipment to ensure optimal performance. · Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure precise cutting and drilling as required. · Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines, schedules and deadlines. · Troubleshoot and rectify operational issues with Voortman machinery in a timely manner. · Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations. · Proven experience operating machinery or similar CNC Equipment. · Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and techniques. · Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in the steel service center industry. · Proficient in basic computer skills and familiarity with machine control software. · Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills and abilities. · Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a TEAM environment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum 3-5 years industrial materials handling. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write English. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must have some Voortman experience.
