Job Description
The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Volleyball Club Coach to lead our 5th and 6th Grade Volleyball Club. This program focuses on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun, supportive environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and leading age-appropriate volleyball sessions twice per week.
- Teaching fundamental skills such as passing, setting, serving, and court rotation.
- Organizing engaging drills and mini-games (e.g., “Bump It Up,” “Ready, Set, Go,” “Four-Corner Setting”).
- Promoting student participation, confidence, and collaboration.
- Ensuring student safety and supervision during all activities.
Qualifications:
- Experience playing or coaching volleyball (school or recreational level).
- Ability to engage and motivate elementary students.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification
Schedule:
- Fall Session: Tuesdays and Thursdays (specific dates to be announced).
- Sessions held after school in the Cooperstown gymnasium.
Compensation:
- Stipend per district extracurricular pay schedule.
