About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Voice, Unified Communications, Contact Centre & Voice Agent Architect to define and deliver the next generation of enterprise communications solutions for Forbes 2000 companies . This role combines deep expertise in telecommunications, Unified Communications (UC), Contact Centre technologies, API-led integration, and Agentic AI architectures.

The successful candidate will lead the evolution of intelligent communication ecosystems that leverage AI agents, orchestration frameworks, automation platforms, APIs, and cloud-native technologies to transform customer experiences at the session layer and B/OSS workflow.

The architect will act as the bridge between Customer and Portfolio requirements into Behaviour Driven Development following SAFe Lean-Agile principles into measurable business outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

• Define strategic target state architecture for Telephony, UC, collaboration, CPaaS and CCaaS services.
• Develop architectures for Number Management, Emergency Service, Regulatory Compliance and Carrier Interconnects.
• Lead the adoption of Agentic AI and AI Harness methodologies across voice platforms.
• Establish standards for event-driven architectures and AI DevSecOps with Agentic control.
• Prove architecture hypothesis with proof of value accountability
• Adjudicate design and investment cases at the architectural control board and support submissions to the BTI investment board
• Ensure designs are resilient, secure and compliant to international regulatory conditions through proactive testing and monitoring.
• Champion Behaviour Driven Development following SAFe Lean-Agile principles.
• Drive vendor assessments and technology selections.
• Lead exit of legacy capabilities and tooling for customer and service migrations

Essential Skills / Experience

Strategic Architectural Leadership

• Proven principal-level architecture leadership experience within large and complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated ability to define technology strategy and influence executive stakeholders across business and technology functions.
• Experience communicating architectural direction, transformation strategy and investment recommendations at executive leadership level.

Voice, Contact & Unified Communication

Essentials

• Extensive expertise in: SIP, IMS, SBCs, Carrier interconnects, Telecom regulations, Call Servers, Number Management, Messaging, Fraud, Shaken/Stir, Media Servers/Gateways, IVR and agentic voice applications inc operational hands on experence.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems through APIs and automation platforms – Rest APIs, GraphQL, OAuth2, Microservces, Service Level Execution (SLEE), CAMARA & vCON

Desirable

• Microsoft Teams OC, WebEX UC, Zoom inc phone.
• Implementation of TM Forum ODA, ITIL foundation, TOGAF, Opensource developments and software development workflows (GIT, JIRA)
• Experience delivering enterprise contact centre architectures – Genesys, Five 9s, WebEx CC.

Hands on experience

• Hands on deployments in private and public cloud native environments. Openstack, Azure, AWS, GCP inc with VMWare
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture principles and enterprise platform engineering
• Experience with data management and exposure. Kafka, Relational, Time Series & In Memory inc in AWS.
• Experience deploying AI agents into operational environments, and prototype with coding agents
