Job Description

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Program Services – Vocational Therapist (Vocational Coordinator) (Part-Time)
Range: $25 to $35 per hour
Locations: Primarily Flint with some travel to Novi, and Warren

Do you want to use your expertise to help individuals with brain injuries or developmental disabilities discover their potential and achieve meaningful employment? As the Vocational Therapist, you will support participants through individualized vocational planning, skills training, and evaluation—bridging therapeutic rehabilitation and competitive employment readiness.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and facilitate implementation of Individual Plans of Employment and vocational goals within vocational programs and community settings.
• Provide 1:1 and group-based Job Readiness and Soft Skills training, including resume development, interview preparation, workplace behavior, and communication.
• Conduct vocational testing and assessments such as the Holland’s Interest Inventory, WRAT, COPS/CAPS, and other standardized tools as appropriate.
• Deliver Benefits Counseling, Job Exploration Counseling, and Customized Employment services.
• Collaborate with program managers and case coordinators to identify participants ready to transition toward community-based employment.
• Assist in vocational program development, creating structured group curricula and documentation templates.
• Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports per state standards and program standards
• Market and build relationships with local employers and volunteer sites to expand placement and skill-building opportunities.
• Provide on-site coaching, mentoring, and workplace adjustment support to promote independence and job retention.
• Maintain compliance with safety and reporting standards; document incidents or participant concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with Direct Support Professionals and interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent vocational supports across programs.
Qualifications
• Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field.
• CRC (Certified Rehabilitation Counselor) credential preferred (or eligibility in progress).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in vocational rehabilitation, brain injury, or developmental disability settings preferred.
• Knowledge of vocational evaluation tools and community employment processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate participants.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and ability to travel between program sites.
• Reliable, organized, and proactive with a passion for helping others reach their employment goals.
Position Details
• Status: Part-Time (approximately 20 hours per week to start, with potential to expand as referrals grow)
• Reports to: Program Director of Vocational and Day Services
