We are hiring in the Bronx! Join us at Fedcap Inc. for an exciting career as a Vocational Evaluation Supervisor.

Wage/Salary 65k-70k

The Vocational Evaluation Supervisor manages and supervises the Vocational Evaluation team, oversees the Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans (IVAP) process, and assesses the work skills, abilities, work readiness, and vocational potential through the administration of aptitude and educational achievement tests of the clients at the program site.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Researches, develops, and implements new tests, measures, and report formats to meet the agency's needs and the varying needs of disability populations.
  • Mentors, coaches, and assists in the training of other staff members, as necessary.
  • Supervise the measurement and recording of client responses to motivational techniques and criticism, as well as organizational ability, perseverance, attendance, punctuality, flexibility, interpersonal skills, work habits, and communication skills.
  • Oversee the development of Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans (IVAP), including education and vocational training referrals, Community Services referrals, and appropriate job search activities, based on the results of the IVAP assessments and other medical, mental health, substance abuse, and psychosocial assessments.
  • Review and sign off on Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans while making recommendations for adjustments.
  • Identify vocational evaluation staff training needs and ensure training is obtained.
  • Provides oversight to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the contracting agency as well as NYC HRA.
  • Ensures that all required statistical data and reports are prepared accurately and submitted promptly.
  • Implements internal controls to confirm that work and production are consistent with regular policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Case conferences with other WeCARE service providers on an as-needed basis, including Case Managers, Work Readiness Facilitators, Job Prep and Placement Coordinators, and Community Service Specialists.
  • Hires, supervises, evaluates, develops, and terminates assigned staff to ensure staff are productive and motivated.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, vocational education, psychology, or education, or the equivalent in a related field.
  • Current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credentials from the Commission on Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Certification
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant prior experience in vocational assessment is required, with 1 year in a Supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of vocational systems and valid testing procedures, as well as knowledge of the labor market and world of work.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates are preferred.
