Job Description

BDO’s Creative Services Visual Design Senior Specialist is a visual storyteller that brings educational and informational content to life. Independently and with support of Creative Services leaders and other team members, the Visual Design Senor Specialist will combine foundational design principles with advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and presentation best-practices to create inspiring and impactful PowerPoint-based deliverables and interactive experiences. These presentations and reports are shared with clients and used for events, trainings, and speaking engagements, both in-person and digitally. This position requires strong communication and writing/editing skills, strong time and project management skills, creative adaptability, focused attention to detail, the ability to produce quality work in a deadline-oriented environment, and the willingness to learn and grow as a creative professional.

Job Duties:

  • Designs and produces PowerPoint-based and interactive visual content in the form of client and prospect presentations, meeting support deliverables, internal- and external-facing training materials, reports, and other related material
  • Edits images and creates custom charts, graphs, tables, icons and other infographics for use in presentations in alignment with brand guidelines, leveraging stock assets as necessary
  • Drafts, reviews, and edits engaging copy and messaging for presentations and other, related deliverables as needed
  • Leads and/or provides significant support on presentation projects and internal focus areas
  • Works independently and collaborates with other team members and internal clients to establish clear creative direction that can be converted into a presentation that connects, executing on that direction with confidence
  • Researches and understands firm audiences and makes appropriate structure, layout, and imagery recommendations
  • Supports the creation, evolution, maintenance and modification of master PowerPoint templates and internal, editable PowerPoint graphics resources for diverse needs
  • Champions the BDO brand to ensure all marketing and communications reflect the firm’s messages, positioning and visual identity
  • Supports the development of tools and resources to communicate corporate visual identity and presentation processes in alignment with global standards and industry best practices
  • Helps ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all materials by carefully reviewing work and adhering to the correct use of established brand standards, national marketing protocol and defined processes
  • Maintains team digital file management system and follows backup best practices
  • Identifies industry, design, and presentation trends, and focuses on building technical knowledge by attending workshops/webinars, reviewing professional publications, and/or participating in professional societies
  • Other duties as required


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • Major in Graphic Design, Illustration, Marketing, Communications, Technology, Media, or Journalism, preferred

Experience:

  • Three (3) or more years of design or marketing and communications experience, required
  • Experience working within a professional services environment (i.e., accounting, financial consulting, business advisory services and/or banking industries), preferred

Software:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, required
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, required
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, required
  • Experience with interactive content creation tools, like Ceros, Outgrow, and ContentTools, preferred
  • Experience with Prezi or similar applications, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with content writing and editing
  • Excellent IT skills, especially with design, presentation, interactive, and photo-editing software
  • Exceptional creativity and thought-provoking design skills
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a deadline-orientated environment while supporting and leading multiple projects to accomplish desired results
  • Excellent project leadership, time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, editing, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills, consultative approach to working with marketing and client service professionals at all levels
  • An understanding of the latest design, presentation, and marketing trends and their role within a professional services environment
  • Capable to understand and communicate BDO business, marketplace, and value proposition
  • Driven self-starter with a proactive approach to serving professionals at all levels in a client-oriented, matrix environment

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $55,000 - $72,000

Maryland Range: $55,000 - $72,000

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $55,000 - $72,000
