The role
As a Visitor Services Guide, you’ll help bring Placemaking NSW precincts to life by delivering engaging tours, talks and visitor experiences that connect people to the precinct. From sharing stories and insights to supporting education activities, you’ll play a key role in creating positive, memorable experiences that encourage people to explore and learn more.

In this frontline role, you’ll balance delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment, while ensuring accurate information, safety awareness and culturally respectful storytelling. You’ll also contribute to First Nations programs, working closely with community and visitors to ensure content is delivered with authenticity and care.

What you will bring to the role

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and adapt your approach to diverse audiences including children, young people, adults and people with disability
• A passion for delivering high-quality, customer-focused visitor experiences in a dynamic environment
• Experience or capability in delivering First Nations content with integrity, cultural sensitivity and respect
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including community members
• Sound organisational and administration skills, including managing emails, bookings and enquiries
• Awareness and commitment to safe work practices and risk management in a public environment
• Confidence using basic technology systems to support program delivery and customer service

What is an essential requirement:

• Requirement to work to a roster which will include weekends and holidays.
• This position undertakes child related work as determined by the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act, 2012. The position needs a valid clearance and clearance number prior to commencing this position.
• This role will require a current Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to gain a Senior First Aid Certificate prior to commencement of employment

About Us
Placemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydney’s most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Circular Quay, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, Sydney Fish Markets Public Spaces and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydney's CBD.
