The immediate vacancies are located at the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport.
Salary: $3,266 to $4,139 per month (SR-08, Step C to I)
Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.
Shift work: Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

The Visitor Information Program Assistant I is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public at the Lihue Airport, for providing information of interest to visitors to encourage travel to the major islands in the Hawaiian chain; and for incidentally performing various clerical duties and other related duties as assigned.

Basic Experience: Applicants must possess experience which demonstrated the ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and a high degree of verbal skill. This requirement may also be met with the possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
General Experience: One (1) year of work experience which demonstrated positive evidence that applicants possess patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others.
Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the SIDA clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.
