About the Opportunity

Located in one of the finest regional areas of Victoria, Council is seeking a Visitor Economy Coordinator offered on senior banding to assist the Economic Development Unit. Glenelg Shire has recently adopted its Tourism Strategy with key priorities to develop actions plans that connect all our key tourism locations.

Council is also experiencing strong tourism growth over the summer season and looking to build upon this with marketing opportunities and higher value stays being pursued.

We are looking for someone who is tertiary qualified in Event Management, Business, Economics, Tourism or a closely associated discipline with experience to assist in delivery of these matters.

What you need to Succeed

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Take the lead driving growth in the visitor economy across the Glenelg Shire.
• Coordinate the Shire’s tourism and event activities, to ensure high quality, customer focused and efficient service delivery.
• An understanding of influences associated with tourism in regional areas.
