The Argonne Quantum Network Testbed (ARQNET) is a campus-to-metro scale heterogeneous quantum networking infrastructure that enables research, development, and validation of the building blocks of scalable quantum networks. Our group have developed a prototype orchestrator to demonstrate continuous entanglement distribution over ARQNET. Currently, the control plane of the orchestrator relies on an "executor" module to execute network functions and services requested by the user. The student will work on improving the implementation of the orchestrator to add a service plane to expand testbed access so that more quantum networking experiments can be performed in situ without requiring extensive training or specialized backgrounds.
