Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer in Art to teach one section of Introduction to Sculpture and one section of Installation Art in the Spring 2027 semester.
Scripps College is one of seven members of The Claremont Colleges Consortium located 35 miles east of Los Angeles. Scheduled course days/times are:
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10:00-12:30 and 1:15-3:45
· An MFA in Art with a specialty in sculptural techniques and installation required.
· College level teaching experience, inclusive of TA-ships, required.
· Applicants should possess a broad knowledge of contemporary art.
· Ability to teach woodshop techniques from start to finish including the use of stationary and hand tools.
· Ability to teach shop safety.
· Ability to teach mold making, casting and laser cutting preferred.
· In addition to teaching, responsibilities include budgeting and management of materials, assisting with the management of sculpture lab monitors, and maintaining the studio on teaching days.

The salary for this position is $19,000 and is set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
