Job Description

Centre College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics and Business, with a specialization in Macroeconomics, beginning in August 2026. We seek a teacher-scholar with a strong commitment to student-centered, inclusive teaching. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in economics or a scheduled defense date by the start of their appointment. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who are committed to undergraduate education, will contribute to the depth of our faculty, support our flourishing student body, and utilize a variety of pedagogical practices. The Economics & Business Program, the largest program at Centre, offers two degrees: 1) Business and 2) Economics & Finance. The teaching responsibilities for this position include core introductory and intermediate level courses with opportunities to teach upper-level courses in the economist’s areas of interest. The teaching load is six courses over an academic year. The Program’s faculty is a highly collegial, dedicated, and accomplished group of teacher-scholars looking for a colleague who will contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and excellence of the Program and The College.
