The Theatre and Dance Department at Ursinus College is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance as a one year, sabbatical replacement position for the 2019-2020 academic year. The successful candidate will teach 12 credits in dance each semester, including dance composition and an upper level course in somatic theory and practice. The candidate will also produce a large-scale concert for our spring production, with the opportunity to choreograph. Other courses will include dance technique (according to the candidate’s specialty), Introduction to Dance, and others, depending on the needs of the department and the skills of the candidate.
Other duties will include service to the college, advising responsibilities, recruitment and retention duties, mentoring student choreography, and collaborating with the faculty of the department for our full production season.
