The Greenwood School of Music seeks a qualified cellist to build and sustain a successful cello studio and play an active role in the recruitment and retention of cello majors, as well as collaborate with colleagues in the advancement of the string area. The candidate will be expected to teach applied lessons in cello including a weekly studio class. The teaching assignment will also include coaching chamber music, as well as an upper-division or graduate-level independent study course in pedagogy and repertoire, as needed. Additional teaching assignments may be in general education or in an area of the candidate’s expertise. This is a one-year, non-tenure track position, with possibility of renewal.
Doctorate or ABD and applied teaching experience at the university level required. Experience in chamber and orchestral performance desired. Strong pre-collegiate teaching record and ability to work with a diverse population preferred.
