
The Greenwood School of Music seeks a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Music to serve as the Associate Director of Bands.
The candidate would serve as Director of 300+ member OSU Cowboy Marching Band with duties including planning, designing, teaching, and covering administrative duties needed to oversee a Big Twelve athletic band program. Conducting the Symphonic Band each semester. Teaching assignments within the music education program with specific assignments contingent upon the successful candidate's expertise. The candidate is expected to engage in service to the unit and their profession, to be productive as an artist/scholar, and to promote an inclusive workplace and learning environment.
The University (25,000 students at its main campus in Stillwater) is located approximately 65 miles from Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The Greenwood School of Music has thirty-six full-time and thirteen part-time faculty members and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. The School offers the degrees of Master of Music (with options in applied music or conducting); Bachelor of Music (with options in music education and performance); Bachelor of Arts; and Bachelor of Science in Music Industry. Master's degree required. Earned Doctorate in Conducting or Music Education or equivalent professional experience preferred. Strong music education background and evidence of successful teaching at the high school-level preferred.
