Job Title: Virtual School Program Coordinator

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of 6-12 Programs

Pay Grade: Professional 2, 221 Days

Primary Purpose:

Provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for the district's grades 6�12 Virtual School Program. Ensure high-quality virtual instruction, student engagement, academic achievement, compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements, and continuous program improvement. Support teachers, students, families, and campus administrators in implementing an effective online learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all learners. ?

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred

Valid Texas Educator Certificate

Texas Principal Certification preferred

Eligible to evaluate teachers under the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of TEA rules and requirements related to virtual and remote instruction

Experience with learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Schoology, or Google Classroom

Strong understanding of instructional technology integration

Knowledge of digital curriculum and online instructional best practices

Experience with student data analysis and continuous improvement planning

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Ability to develop and deliver professional learning

Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, parents, teachers, and administrators

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Knowledge of federal and state accountability requirements

Experience:

Minimum three years of successful classroom teaching experience

Experience in online or blended learning preferred

Campus or district instructional leadership experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the district's grades 6�12 Virtual School Program.

  2. Collaborate with the secondary principals to develop procedures that ensure effective virtual instruction and student success.

  3. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and district policies regarding virtual instruction.

  4. Facilitate implementation of high-quality instructional practices aligned with district curriculum.

  5. Coordinate curriculum resources and digital instructional materials.

  6. Promote innovative instructional strategies and technology integration.

  7. Support implementation of accommodations and modifications for special populations.

  8. Provide coaching and instructional support for virtual teachers.

  9. Design and facilitate professional development focused on virtual teaching, instructional technology, student engagement, and digital assessment.

  10. Assist administrators with teacher observations, feedback, and instructional improvement efforts.

  11. Monitor student enrollment, attendance, participation, academic progress, and course completion.

  12. Develop intervention plans for students demonstrating academic or attendance concerns.

  13. Analyze student performance data to identify trends and instructional needs.

  14. Support continuous improvement planning through data-driven decision making.

  15. Serve as the primary district contact for families participating in the Virtual School Program.

  16. Coordinate orientation sessions and informational meetings for students and parents.

  17. Collaborate with the Technology Department to ensure students and staff have access to necessary instructional tools.

  18. Assist with implementation of digital platforms and instructional applications.

  19. Assist in developing and managing the Virtual School Program budget.

  20. Evaluate instructional resources and recommend purchases aligned to program goals.

  21. Ensure efficient use of district resources supporting virtual instruction.

  22. Attend required district and state meetings.

  23. Perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Complies with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.

Communication and Community Relations

  1. Establishes and maintains a professional relationship and open communication with district professionals.

  2. Articulates the district's mission, instructional philosophy, and curriculum implementation strategies to the community and solicits its support in realizing the district's mission.

  3. Demonstrates awareness of district-community needs and initiates activities to meet those needs.

  4. Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.


Customer Care Skills

  1. Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff, and other professionals.

  2. Always use proper phone etiquette, speaking slowly and clearly.? Take reliable messages and routes to the appropriate staff.

  3. Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others.

  4. Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.

  5. Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
