The Virtual RN will:

  • Assess the health status of assigned patients as outlined in the Nursing Standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive virtual admission/discharge assessments, within established timeframes.
  • Conduct comprehensive virtual admission assessments by obtaining and reconciling admission information, collaborating with bedside nursing staff to validate assessment findings, identify actual or potential patient safety concerns and communicating pertinent clinical information to support safe, coordinated and high-quality patient care.
  • Conduct comprehensive virtual discharge readiness assessments by evaluating patient preparedness for discharge, reviewing discharge medications and discharge plans, confirming follow up appointments, reinforcing discharge instructions and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure a safe, seamless and patient centered transition of care.
  • Provide appropriate clinical support to the inpatient nursing units through the use of remote technology by partnering with bedside nurses to enhance clinical workflows, delivering patient and family education, monitoring for changes in patient condition or concerns, and promptly escalating clinical issues to support safe, coordinated, high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • BSN preferred or must be obtained within three (3) years of hire date
  • Prior experience with patient education, discharge planning, care coordination, or virtual nursing preferred
  • The virtual registered nurse must be a self-directed, proactive professional who is able to independently navigate barriers, identify solutions, and adapt to evolving workflows while maintaining focus on patient care and operational excellence.
  • BLS certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association

Salary Range: 41.09 - 67.82 USD

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
