Context & Environment

Join the Refining & Chemicals branch of TotalEnergies and contribute to the development of innovative chemical recycling solutions for plastics.

Directly integrated into a specialized R&D team focused on plastic chemical recycling in Feluy, you will contribute to the development and optimization of processes that transform plastic waste into valuable feedstocks for petrochemical and refining value chains.

Activities

As part of this assignment, you will spend approximately 50% of your time conducting laboratory and pilot-scale experimental work, and 50% analyzing results, developing processes, and valorizing technical data.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct laboratory experiments and pilot-scale pyrolysis unit trials.
  • Characterize feedstocks and products generated from the processes under study.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental results.
  • Assess the impact of plastic waste properties on process performance.
  • Contribute to the improvement of pretreatment and purification techniques.
  • Participate in the optimization of chemical recycling processes.
  • Support the structuring, analysis, and valorization of technical data.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of data visualization and analysis tools.

Candidate Profile

You hold a Master’s degree (minimum Bac+5 equivalent) from an engineering school or university, with a specialization in chemical engineering, process engineering or chemistry.

An initial experience gained through an academic project, internship, apprenticeship, or professional experience would be considered an asset.

Exposure to the refining, petrochemical, or recycling sectors would also be advantageous.

You have a good command of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly:

  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Word

Knowledge of Aspen Plus, Pro/II, or similar process simulation tools would be considered a plus.

A minimum C1 level in French is required. A minimum C1 level in English is also required.
