As part of the construction of a major FLNG unit in a South Korean shipyard, Technip Energies is looking for a VIE Mechanical Inspector to join the on‑site Quality team.

This role ensures mechanical installations, parts, and systems meet quality, safety, and design standards, often requiring a technical degree, some workshop experience (like pumps, fabrication), and skills in reporting, problem-solving, and using inspection tools, working under senior staff to check HVAC, piping, machinery, and construction projects for compliance

The assignment offers a unique opportunity to gain experience on a major offshore project in a multicultural environment.

About the tasks :

• Inspecting Equipment: Checking HVAC, ductwork, gas lines, pumps, turbines, and other mechanical systems. Verify mechanical installations conform to codes and standards.
• Documentation: Preparing detailed reports, logging work, and recording inspection findings.
• Liaising: Communicating with clients, contractors, and project managers about inspection results.
• Quality Control: Ensuring work follows project specifications, procedures, and safety standards. Identify defects and non-conformances.
• Site Support: Attending meetings, providing technical input, and sometimes witnessing tests at supplier sites.

Presentation of the attachment service :

The role of the Quality team ( 1 Manager expat , 1 Lead local , 5 Inspectors local + 1 VIE ) at Construction Site is to provide a risk management function to ensure that project’s equipment and materials are received complete, correct, and on time. Risk management : Identification, Evaluation, and Prioritization of risk exposures. Expediting and inspection are used to mitigate these risks, helping to ensure project quality and schedule adherence.

About you :

• You have a technical/Engineer degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or relevant diploma.
• Rigorous and with a good team spirit, you are able to take initiative and react seriously and dynamically to the demands of the profession.
• You are result driven, delivering at the best of your capabilities despite tight deadlines
• You are proficient in computing tools and offie software
• In order to be able to communicate easily, a fluent level of English is mandatory.
• Required experience duration : 0-2+ years in a workshop, manufacturing, or construction setting, using PC software (Word, Excel), good communication, and problem-solving.
