Job Description

Air Liquide Bulgaria has been on the domestic market since 1999 and is a countrywide recognised gas producer and supplier of technologies, services and gases for the food industry, large industries, healthcare and environment. Air Liquide Bulgaria has a team of 95 employees serving industrial customers.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

In Bulgaria, AL operates since 1999 with three productions units for gaseous and liquid products and one filling center for cylinders. In Romania, AL operates since 1999 and has one production unit, two filling centers, one acetylene unit and three on-site units. The two countries are highly integrated with a joint management and "cross-border" teams. In total, 170 colleagues are working in Bulgaria and Romania. Air Liquide in Bulgaria and Romania has four production units with long term customer contracts. The energy supply for these production units is realized via the customer. This set up has to be reviewed and analyzed in order to clearly identify issues and improvement opportunities (i.e. assess the energy sourcing, pricing and energy contribution definitions and agreements). The aim is to describe the current status and to identify options to improve the energy contribution through adjustment of sourcing, unit production mode or specific contract adjustments. Combinig the results of this analysis with the specific Bulgarian and Romanian energy market conditions, an energy strategy for Bulgaria and Romania has to be defined.

The Energy Management Coordinator will be managed / guided by the General Manager of ALBG and ALRO and is supporting the Cluster Energy Manager for Bulgaria and Romania. The Energy Management Coordinator will be in contact with various local colleagues / departments in Bulgaria and Romania (e.g. Controlling, Operations) but also with Cluster colleagues (e.g. Energy Management, Business developer). He/She will connect the different departments / domains in order to assess proberly the as-is situation, define a new strategy and coordinate and support the implementation.

Main goal: Definition of an energy strategy with the aim to improve the gross margin through optimized energy sourcing and energy contribution for the main production units

Main activities:
- analyze and summarize the main contracts regarding the definitions and agreements around energy sourcing, pricing and energy contribution
- collect and summarize the information on the possible production modes at the production units and assess if they are aligned with the assumed production modes in the contracts
- collect and summarize the information on energy efficiency of the different operation modes possible at the production units
- collect and summarize available information on Bulgarian and Romanian energy market and possible ways of energy sourcing
- understand the current methodology and usage of tools for EC calculation and compare with best practices from the Cluster

Based on the collected information identify and assess the following:
- areas for EC improvement for the sites incl. probability of realization of improvement.
- possible improvements on the operation modes of the production units.
- possible improvements on EC calculation.

Summarize all in a energy strategy paper for Bulgaria and Romania and coordinate the approval of the strategy.
Execute and coordinate the implementation of the identified improvements and recommendations.
