Coface Central Europe Region consists of 12 countries, and the largest business we do in Poland, Austria, Romania and Slovenia. The open position is within the Regional Transformation Office focusing on project management and business processes in all countries of the Region.

The job

We are looking for an Associate Economist to join our Economic Research Department. In this role, you will initially support senior economists and project teams by conducting economic research, credit analysis and regular market monitoring. Generate and update statistical databases and themed reports.

The main responsibilities will be:

  • Support senior economists with economic, financial, and data analyses
  • Track major economic indicators of Central European economies, including Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and sectors to analyze their impact on country risk and insolvency trends
  • Draft weekly news summary for Central Europe.
  • Contribute to publications issued by Group/Central Europe Economic Research.
  • Prepare presentations for clients and other external events.
  • Deliver on ad-hoc research requests of key topics in the region.
  • Work proficiently on economic databases and large datasets
  • Create/work on econometric models

Qualifications

  • At least Master’s degree in economics, banking, insurance or statistics
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience or internship in a similar role/profile
  • Language requirements – English C1, willing to work in multicultural, multinational environment
  • Demonstrate good understanding of concepts and principles in macroeconomics and country risk analysis
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills
  • Highly analytical and strong fact-finding skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • The experience in using Macrobond would be an asset but not necessary
