The Oregonian/OregonLive seeks a temporary general assignment video reporter to jump on the day’s news, moving with urgency while prioritizing accuracy and integrity, as part of its coverage of the Portland suburbs.
The right candidate understands social media and video storytelling and can use a mixture of field work, source development and savvy video editing to reflect what residents are talking about in their community. A successful candidate also will be passionate about telling the stories of diverse communities in Oregon through food, culture and other visually compelling stories. The candidate must also have the ability to turn those video stories into posts for an online audience to find on OregonLive.com. This position requires evening or weekend shifts as news demands.
The pay rate for this position is $28 per hour.
This position requires reliable transportation to meet with sources and cover events.
