Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Video Editor to support our news operation by editing high-quality, accurate, and timely video content for broadcast, digital platforms, and social media. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced news environments, understands editorial standards, and can work under tight deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Edit breaking news, explainers, interviews, packages, and long-form features
• Repurpose content from other/sister publications with existing presets and agree style
• Ensure visual storytelling aligns with editorial tone, accuracy, and brand guidelines
• Add graphics, lower thirds, captions, sound design, and basic colour correction when needed
• Be able to adapt content to different platforms if needed.
• Work closely with producers, journalists, and social teams to meet editorial deadlines
• Handle last-minute changes quickly during live or breaking news situations
• Be able to work flexible when needed
• Maintain proper file management, archiving, and version control
• Be flexible when it comes to timing based on newsroom need

Skills & Competencies:

• Minimum 3-7 years of experience in media/video production
• Editing (Expert) on Adobe Premiere
• Editing (Intermediate) on AVID
• Design skills (Intermediate) in Photoshop and Illustrator
• Having worked on creating specific content across social channels, and understanding different audiences and channel roles
• Having specific vertical content creation experience
• An eye for “virality” and identifying marketable material
• Fluency in Arabic and English reading and writing
• Tech savviness and has hunger to learn more tools to expand their knowledge
• Strong time management skills
• Experience in AI tools and be up to date with using AI to create content (Highly preferred skill)
