Department Overview
The R Channel Business Department has been operating a new video distribution platform, "R Channel," since 2023. It is one of the industry's largest video distribution services, offering over 50 channels of news, sports, dramas, anime, variety shows, and more, all available for free.
In an era where video viewing is shifting from TV to the internet, R Channel is developing a unique Rakuten business by enriching its content, primarily sports and news, and by leveraging Rakuten's data assets, such as purchasing data, to deliver targeted advertising to viewers.

Position Details
This position is for a salesperson (manager candidate) who will stand on the side of Rakuten's video streaming business (media/platform side) and promote the planning and sales of video advertisements.
We are looking for someone to be in charge of advertising product planning and sales promotion. As an advertising planning and sales representative on the media side, you will be responsible for monetizing the platform by collaborating with departments within Rakuten that handle the sale of all types of advertising.
Main Responsibilities:
- Video advertising product planning for Rakuten's video streaming media (e.g., targeting products utilizing Rakuten's data, advertising products pursuing synergy with Rakuten Ichiba).
- In cooperation with Rakuten's advertising promotion team, promote the sale of video ad slots directly to advertisers (brands, etc.) or through advertising agencies, and conduct ad effectiveness reporting.
- Propose video content planning and acquisition from an advertising sales perspective (e.g., content planning targeting a specific advertiser).
- Promote advertising business partnerships with internal and external advertising technology partners.
