We are seeking a Vice Principal for an international high school located in Hangzhou. This position is available from the upcoming 2026-27 academic year in August 2026.

Job Purpose
The Vice Principal (High School) leads the division’s academics and daily operations, including faculty development, student achievement, campus culture, and whole-person growth. The role sets and delivers annual and long-term plans to drive strong A-Level and/or AP results and university admissions, while also nurturing character, leadership, creativity, and social responsibility.
- Lead curriculum planning and continuous improvement to meet A-Level/AP standards and international university admission requirements.
- Oversee teaching implementation, academic coordination, and assessment practices to raise attainment across the division.
- Use learning and assessment data (with subject/grade leaders) to identify gaps and deliver targeted improvement plans.
- Build and maintain academic quality assurance systems, embedding reflective practice and formative assessment.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, and retention to develop a stable, high-performing high school faculty team.
- Coach subject leaders, grade leaders, and middle managers to clarify responsibilities and strengthen leadership and execution.
- Plan and deliver professional development and cross-disciplinary collaboration to improve teaching practice and innovation.
- Establish ongoing performance feedback, support, and wellbeing mechanisms to strengthen staff engagement and satisfaction.
- Oversee student wellbeing systems, including pastoral care, behavior management, safeguarding, and psychological support.
- Promote student participation in clubs, activities, service learning, and leadership programs to support holistic development.
- Coordinate academic pathways, university counseling, and individualized student plans to achieve diverse post-secondary outcomes.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, professional, internationally minded campus culture.
- Manage day-to-day operations (timetabling, events, facilities coordination, and safety) to ensure smooth, compliant running.
- Strengthen parent-school communication and trust, and represent the division with authorities, exam boards, partners, and accreditation bodies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or above.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in international high school teaching and leadership/administration, with strong knowledge of A-Level and/or AP.
- Experience in bilingual school settings and working effectively with Chinese senior leadership teams.
- Candidates with solid middle-management experience are welcome; senior leadership experience is an advantage but not required.
- Strong strategic thinking and sound judgment, able to balance academic outcomes with holistic student development.
- Excellent leadership, conflict resolution, cross-cultural communication, and parent engagement skills.
- Strong alignment with the school’s mission and values, with a collaborative, long-term mindset.
