Assist Group Functional Head, Group Portfolio Lead, and HoD in the delivery of his/her role and responsibilities, and to manage the assigned audits to ensure that individual audits are delivered on time, on budget, to the required standards and to provide value to the Bank.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist HoD to prepare the audit plan and monitor the progress/ achievement of the audit plan.

  • Assist HoD to develop and maintain: 1) Audit methodology and procedures to provide independent assurance of the control processes in the following business activities: Consumer credit risk management; Consumer loans operations; Consumer banking and wealth management activities of various products (e.g. deposit, investment, insurance) and channels (e.g. branches, phone, internet / mobile banking) under Consumer Financial Services; and AML/CFT activities relating to natural persons; and 2) Knowledge of leading practices and activities relevant to assigned audit portfolios.

  • Lead/Participate in the audit process and procedures to provide independent assessment of consumer banking (including consumer lending) and wealth management business, and evaluate the governance framework, risk management, regulatory compliance processes and internal controls systems over the above business activities.

  • Lead/Participate in the handling of special assignments (e.g. investigations, advisory and other ad-hoc/special projects).

  • Work in conjunction with business/support units and assist HoD to: Keep abreast of emerging risks/concerns; Maintain a good working relationship to enforce the role of IAD as an independent partner to build trust and transparency; Monitor changes in risk management and/or all major new developments; and Monitor the implementation and progress of audit recommendations.

  • Work with HoD and other internal auditors to achieve the most efficient and effective working practices for IAD.

  • Assist HoD to build and develop a team of internal auditors to manage and execute audit engagements with at least the following skills: Project management and data analytics skills; Subject matter expert on audit framework and methodology; Subject matter expert on consumer banking and wealth management business and selected business/support units; and Ability to identify critical issues and improvement opportunities.

  • Establish and implement career management as well as development plans.

  • Assist HoD in the engagement with key stakeholders, which include line/senior management, external auditors and regulators.

  • Make use of data analytics skill to improve the audit effectiveness and efficiency for audit engagements.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • CIA, CPA or equivalent qualification is required

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in auditing or other risk control functions, preferably in financial industry. Candidates with fewer years of experience may be considered as AVP

  • Sound knowledge of consumer banking (including consumer lending) and wealth management activities, and AML/CFT

  • Sound knowledge of control requirements of banking industry and external applicable rules and regulations

  • Strong data analytical skill, sound knowledge of Python, PowerBI or other data analytics / GenAI tool is preferred

  • Good command of English (Oral & Written)

  • Strong in report writing

  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational and communication skills

  • Strong people management skill

  • Dynamic and good interpersonal skill

  • Ability to interact well with senior management, external stakeholders and regulators

  • High level of integrity and drive, and ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to multi-task and possesses strong time management skill

  • Detail/technical oriented with ability to decipher ‘big picture issues’

  • Strong sense of risk governance & control

  • Excellent problem-solving skill

  • Willing to travel for audit assignments

  • ECF - AML/CFT and Green & Sustainable Finance at Core level is preferred
