What will you work on?
We are seeking a highly strategic, detail-oriented, and dynamic Vice President of Sales to lead our Walmart business out of Bentonville, AR. As a key sales executive at Spin Master, you will be the driving force behind maximizing one of our most critical global partnerships.
The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of elite account management within the CPG or Toy industry, coupled with deep operational knowledge of Walmart’s ecosystem. You will be tasked with maximizing revenue opportunities, mitigating risk, delivering on strict profitability goals, and cultivating long-term, multi-level relationships that consistently exceed customer expectations.
How will you create impact?
To ensure you can drive both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability, your responsibilities will be focused across four main pillars:
Strategic Planning & Partnership
Develop Joint Business Plans (JBP): Lead the creation and execution of bi-annual and annual business plans that align Spin Master’s corporate goals with Walmart’s strategic initiatives.
Omnichannel Strategy: Synchronize in-store merchandising with Walmart.com initiatives to drive seamless omnichannel growth.
Executive Relationship Building: Cultivate deep, cross-functional relationships with Walmart leadership and buyers to position Spin Master as a preferred vendor.
Financial & P&L Management
Profitability Ownership: Deep understanding of P&L metrics to deliver a highly profitable plan within the allocated budget year.
Trade Spend & Budgeting: Expertly manage trade budgets, markdown strategies, and promotional spend to maximize ROI.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively analyze sell-through data and market intelligence to capitalize on emerging business opportunities while minimizing inventory and financial risks.
Execution & Operations
Forecasting Excellence: Partner with internal supply chain and Walmart teams to develop highly accurate forecasts that reflect true market realities and seasonal peaks.
Data-Driven Insights: Leverage POS reporting, Retail Link, and advanced analytics to optimize product placement, modulars, and ad plans.
On-Time Delivery: Deliver flawless product presentations, business proposals, and promotional plans on tight customer timelines.
Team Leadership & Culture
Organizational Design: Define and optimize the sales force structure to best serve the evolving needs of the Walmart business.
Talent Development: Hire, mentor, and elevate a high-performing team of National Account Managers, Replenishment Managers, and CPFR Analysts
Culture of Winning: Create an environment of ongoing success, goal achievement, and cross-functional collaboration, making Spin Master an employer of choice in Bentonville.
What are your skills and experience?
We are looking for a highly self-motivated leader who can navigate complex retail environments with persistence, determination, and agility.
Required Experience
Industry Background: Minimum of 5+ years of executive sales leadership experience in the CPG industry (Toy industry experience is highly preferred).
Walmart Expertise: Extensive prior experience directly managing the Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Walmart.com accounts.
Travel: Ability and willingness to travel frequently across the USA, and to other international markets as needed.
Hard Skills
Analytical Acumen: Advanced proficiency in reading POS reports, utilizing Walmart Retail Link/Luminate, Circana, and building complex Excel financial models.
Presentation Building: Elite ability to create and deliver compelling, data-backed business presentations to internal and external teams along with the Walmart Merchant and Planning teams.
Soft Skills
Autonomy: Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently while keeping internal corporate teams fully aligned.
Communication: Crystal clear, efficient communication style aimed at delivering fast, effective solutions to sudden retail challenges.
Relationship Master: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust both externally with the retailer and internally with Spin Master marketing, supply chain, and finance teams.
Market insights: Provide proactive U.S. market insights across both instore and online, to help facilitate the development and refinement of product offerings.
Goal oriented: driven to achieve targets through self-motivation, persistence & determination.
