Derivatives Clearing Services (DCS) sits within HSBC’s Corporate and Institutional Bank and is responsible for providing clients the ability to execute and clear Futures and Options, as well as clear eligible Interest Rate Swaps, Inflation Swaps, and Credit Default Swap Indexes.


The DCS business is looking to expand its ETD (Exchange Traded Derivatives) Execution Sales team. HSBC services some of the largest global institutional customers, including asset managers, hedge funds, banks and corporations. The DCS business is seeking a salesperson to execute orders on behalf of our institutional and corporate clients in futures and options across multiple asset classes (i.e., fixed income, equities, and commodities).

As our Vice President, Sales, Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) you will:

  • Work within the futures execution team to support global client order flow, whether it comes from US desks or affiliate desks in Europe and Asia
  • Share daily market colour and practical trading guidance with clients
  • Be a partner with Rates, Equities and Prime to spot opportunities, onboard institutional clients, and drive futures and options activity through the desk, with a clear focus on revenue growth
  • Be a reliable team player who can step in to cover accounts and keep service smooth when the desk is short-staffed
  • Help build out the firm’s execution capability and support delivery of key business initiatives
  • Stay closely connected with traders and research to make sure client needs are understood and met
  • Bring strong communication and presentation skills
  • Identify key functionality development to improve services to our clients
  • Support the testing of new eTrading products and services
  • Deliver fair outcomes for HSBC’s customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with HSBC’s diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Institutional sales experience with experience in futures and options execution
  • University Degree or advanced qualifications and equivalent experience
  • FINRA Series 3 required; Series 7, 63 a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of capital markets across fixed income, equity indices, and commodities
  • Solid work ethic, a motivated self-starter needing little direction, with a strong focus on growing revenues
  • Ability to engage with key stakeholders at various levels (buy-side traders, portfolio managers, treasury)

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
